The 2012 “Women of Indie” Artists:
The best indie women from around the world.
March 16, 2012
“Tonight’s magazine issue is sure to be IMR Magazine’s biggest & greatest issue to date; Over four months ago, we started the search for the world’s greatest “women of indie” and now, after listening through a total of 2242 submissions from over 56 countries, all fifty US states, and almost every single genre imaginable, we have found twenty-five “women of indie” who exemplify what it takes to be a woman in the global indie music community.
Artists that are featured in tonight’s magazine issue should be held in the highest regard as they have the distinction of being recognized over Grammy award nominees & winners, Rolling Stone Magazine features, VH1 artists, MTV artists, and major festival headliners who did not get picked for this opportunity. So, without further ado, we are pleased to present you with our 2012 “Women of Indie” IMR Magazine issue.”

Stacey is currently living in Nashville, pursuing her dreams of having her music heard. Growing up, she sang in church, grew up listening to The Beatles and The Beach Boys, and aspired to one day hear her songs on film and T.V. Now 25, Stacey has a beautiful debut album, Steady Rhythm, under her belt and continues working hard on new music and making her dreams become a reality. Interview with Herald & Review

“Post-graduation in Nashville, Randol found work in a radio station’s marketing and advertising department and constructed the band she plays with today, which features several friends and Millikin grads, such as Doug Neff, Clint Van Grevenhof and Amy Marx. Throughout, work had been underway on the writing and construction of her sonically rich, full-length debut album, “Steady Rhythm,” which was released in mid-July. “It represents me and my life right now, and all the optimism that I have for the future,” Randol said. “I went in wanting an album of color, vibrance and fun, but with some sentimental value as well.”"
